Have you ever felt like you were screaming in a room full of people, yet no one could hear you? That’s what narcissistic abuse does: it silences, isolates, and leaves survivors questioning their own reality. The scars are often invisible, but the pain runs deep, creating a cycle of loneliness and self-doubt. Many struggle to find a way forward, unsure of where to turn for support. But healing is possible, and the story of Sherry Lou Canino is proof.

A survivor turned holistic trauma healer and coach, she has made it her mission to help others reclaim their lives. Through her books, online programs, and global support network, she is ensuring that no survivor has to navigate their healing journey alone. By transforming her pain into purpose, Sherry is showing the world that there is hope after abuse and that no one has to face it alone.

From Trauma to Transformation

Sherry’s path to healing wasn’t planned; it was survival. As the youngest of eight siblings, she believed she had strong family bonds, but over time, she realized those relationships were built on trauma. Later, she found herself in a toxic relationship with a narcissistic partner. When she finally escaped, she faced an unjust arrest for defending herself. At rock bottom, she turned to writing as a way to process her pain. Her books, The Silent Abuse and Reclaiming Your Life, became lifelines not just for her but for countless survivors seeking to break free from their own trauma.

But healing couldn’t stop at words on a page. Sherry knew survivors needed more than stories; they needed community, guidance, and tools to rebuild their lives. That realization led her to expand her work into a global movement of healing and empowerment.

Healing Beyond Words: Building a Community

Many survivors lack access to therapy or safe spaces for support. Sherry recognized this gap and began developing online programs that survivors could join from anywhere. Her signature program, Rebranding of Self, helps people break trauma bonds and rediscover their confidence. She’s also creating Inner Child Healing courses and oracle decks designed to guide survivors toward emotional restoration.

Through her online community, survivors find a network of people who understand their struggles. Narcissistic abuse often isolates victims, leaving them without support. Being part of a group where they feel seen and heard can be a game-changer. Sherry’s work ensures that survivors don’t just heal, they regain their power.

Healing Through Nature and Horses

Healing isn’t just about understanding trauma; it’s about reconnecting with life. After moving to South Dakota, Sherry discovered the profound healing power of nature and animals. Studies show that spending time in nature reduces stress and anxiety, while equine therapy has been proven to help trauma survivors rebuild trust and emotional resilience.

Horses don’t trust automatically; they require patience and consistency. For survivors who have had their trust shattered, working with horses teaches valuable lessons in boundaries and self-worth. Sherry encourages survivors to find similar moments of peace, whether through nature walks, volunteering with animals, or simply allowing themselves to slow down and breathe.

Creating Real-world Support for Survivors

While Sherry’s primary focus is education and community-building, her vision extends beyond that. She dreams of launching a foundation to provide real-world support for survivors. Many leave abusive relationships with nothing, no home, financial security, or legal protection. She hopes to create a fund that helps survivors with housing deposits, emergency food assistance, and legal aid.

She is creating a book that shares stories from survivors, allowing them to tell their experiences. The money raised will support programs that help people in crisis. She believes that everyone should have access to healing, not just those who can pay for therapy or coaching.

A Movement of Strength and Healing

Sherry’s work isn’t just about personal transformation; it’s about changing the narrative around narcissistic abuse. She’s helping survivors not just heal but reclaim their voices and step into their power. Healing should never be done in isolation, and through her support network, no one has to face it alone.

For those struggling to heal, Sherry’s message is clear: You are not alone. There is a way forward, and there are people ready to walk beside you. Through her books, courses, and advocacy, she is proving that healing isn’t just possible, it’s inevitable for those willing to take the first step.
